Butte County Submitted & Received
Approval for Grant Funding through the
2008 Disaster Recovery Initiative
The Department of Housing and Community Development allocated approximately $38.3 million in 2008 Disaster Recovery Initiative (DRI) funds. Eligible grant activities must have received direct damage or devastation as a result of the 2008 wildfires, and principally benefit low income and moderate income individuals. Butte County submitted a request for $4,300,000 to be utilized for housing rehabilitation, public roadway improvements, and hazard mitigation planning. Approval has been received with possible additional funding. Actual funding along with complete details are yet to come.
